Debt Consolidation Is Not The Only Use For Secured Loans Or Remortgages
Some people think that remortgages and secured loans can only be used as consolidation loans.
It is certainly true that a secured loan or remortgage are both excellent means of tidying up household finances by combining such matters as credit card and personal loan debts into one payment.
Many also realize that these home loans can be used for many other purposes such as school or university fees, holidays, home improvements, vehicle purchase etc.
There are many however who hanker after a second home or holiday home at home or abroad. not considering for one minute that remortgages and secured loans can also be used for this purpose, and many lenders are prepared to lend for this. Other lenders however do not lend for a holiday home, and therefore it is always best to check before you make an application.
If your choice is a second home in your own country, you can of course arrange a mortgage secured on that property, but you would need to provide a deposit at least 30% of the purchase price.
The exact same holds good when buying a property abroad where you can take out a mortgage from several UK lenders or foreign banks, all of whom require you to put down a 30% deposit.
Such deposit could run to many many thousands of pounds, making the dream of owning a second home only that, and not a reality for many.
For homeowners with good equity in their first property owning the holiday home they want can be achieved by taking out a remortgage or a secured loan that can be used to pay for 100% of the purchase price of the second home.
This is the case whether you opt for a property at home or away, and the money spent is well worth while, as that home will rise in value just as your original home has.
When you have decided that you definately want to purchase in France, Italy, Spain, etc., the first step will be to arrange the finance in order not to be disappointed if you see a property you like and do not have the funds in place yet.
When buying a property abroad, it is important to ascertain if it is something you are absolutly sure you want, and it is not simply something evoked by too much wine, fields of sunflowers in Umbria, the heady smells of lavender in Provence or the blue Mediiterranean seen from a charming bistro in a Ligurean village.
Once you have made up your mind that you are one hundred precent certain that this is what you want, you will have many happy hours looking at brochures and browsing the internet in persuit of your idyllic nest in the sun.
