Having already helped numerous buyers with its ‘More for Less’ initiative, which packages carpets, curtains, light fittings and a turfed garden in the price of a new home, Redrow Homes has extended the deal on selected properties at its Danum St Giles development of new houses in Doncaster. It’s just one of a number of incentives available to purchasers at this scheme that make the process of buying and moving into a new property there much more affordable.

“We offer a specification that’s unrivalled among most of our house building peers, let alone the second-hand sector,” says Patsy Aicken, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire). “Coupled with incentives such as part-exchange or HomeBuy Direct, the added extras we’re offering have helped customers buy the home of their dreams at a price they can afford. We’ve had enquiries from other potential customers hoping to benefit from the deals and have decided to give house hunters a final chance to buy a home that offers ‘More for Less’.”

The Danum St Giles development has a semi-rural setting in Scawthorpe, a residential suburb just a couple of miles from Doncaster’s thriving town centre, within easy reach of both the A1(M) and some glorious Yorkshire countryside. There’s currently a range of two- and four-bedroom homes for sale, which will appeal to first-time buyers and existing homeowners alike. Redrow is in a position to assist both these types of buyer, thanks to HomeBuy Direct funding and a part exchange scheme.

“HomeBuy Direct is designed to help those who would otherwise have been priced out of the market to step onto the property ladder,” explains Patsy. “The popularity of the homes and the incentive means that it’s now only available on selected properties for a limited period only.”

HomeBuy Direct is a Government-backed initiative to help people onto the property ladder with a shared equity arrangement, a great solution for buyers on the market for affordable new homes in South Yorkshire at present. It means they can enjoy 100% ownership of a brand new home for as little as 70% of the price up front, requiring a smaller deposit and a smaller mortgage for qualifying house hunters. The balance of the price is funded jointly by the Homes and Communities Agency and Redrow, interest free for the first five years and repayable when the property is sold. The scheme brings the initial price of the £122,999 ‘Evesham’ two-bedroom home down to £86,099.

The part exchange scheme helps existing homeowners to buy a new Redrow home at Danum St Giles in two basic ways. Firstly, by making an offer on the prospective buyer’s property within seven days, it takes a lot of the stress out of trying to find a buyer and getting involved in potentially complicated buying chains. Secondly, the financial benefits are considerable: by acting as a cash buyer, Redrow removes the need for an estate agent, saving a fortune in fees.
