Taylor Wimpey Offers A Great Choice Of New Houses In Wiltshire
National housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has an impressive range of new housing developments scattered across the county of Wiltshire, in prime locations such as Devizes, Melksham, Swindon and Trowbridge, catering for first-time buyers right through to those upsizing a larger family home.
The lovely Quakers Walk development of new homes in Devizes is right at the center of the county, with 61 three-, four- and five-bedroom energy-saving EcoHomes. Priced from £229,995 to £359,995, the properties are situated in a perfect location on the northern edge of the town – by an ancient, leafy pathway. Devizes itself is a charming market town which offers a choice of good schools, while its shopping centre focuses around the Market Place, which is home to many of the town’s favourite coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, independent shops and the indoor market. Bath, Salisbury, and Swindon are all within easy striking distance, making it a convenient base for commuters.
Taylor Wimpey’s “Home of the Week” at Quakers Walk is the detached, 3 bedroom ‘Kirkstone’ on Plot 126. The price of £249,995 includes flooring throughout, integrated kitchen, turfed lawn, an en-suite shower room to the master bedroom, a single garage and allocated parking space.
Another of its developments of new homes in Wiltshire is the exclusive Hawkescroft cul-de-sac in Trowbridge, offering a choice of just 25 two- or three-bedroom properties priced from £151,995. Using pleasing materials that fit in with the local area, Hawkescroft features five new house designs that have never been built before. Trowbridge itself is compact yet is the third largest settlement in Wiltshire after Swindon and Salisbury, with a great choice of shops and a great deal of heritage thanks to its textile industry roots.
In Melksham, a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes are being built at Weavers Gate, although prices are yet to be confirmed. Melksham is situated on the River Avon, has its own thriving business district, and is close to the business and region’s main retail centres of Bath, Bristol, Chippenham, Trowbridge and Swindon.
Taylor Wimpey also has several new-build developments in Swindon, including a few remaining three- and four-bedroom townhouses at Royal Mead, and new two- to five-bedroom homes coming soon at Saddlers Rise priced from £134,995.
Buyer incentives There are several schemes to help first-time buyers, including Deposit Match, which could double a buyers’ mortgage deposit up to 10% of the purchase price, so they need a smaller mortgage and may get a better rate. On selected homes priced up to £150,000, the Easystart shared equity scheme enables buyers to purchase a new home for as little as 85% of the price now, paying a five per cent deposit on exchange of contracts, and 80% of the price via their pre-arranged mortgage on completion. Taylor Wimpey loans the remaining 15%, with no rent or interest to pay for up to ten years.
For existing homeowners, under the Easymover scheme Taylor Wimpey will sell your home, usually within six weeks of going on the market, and pay for you to move house – by hiring and paying for estate agents, and arranging specialist house-to-home removal.
