They will tell you all kinds of things, some just their own personal reasons, but some having to do with their preferences in how a house is designed or decorated. Believe me, people will not hesitate to share with you the things they wish were different. Don’t take their comments as insults, simply as information that you can use to profit down the road.
And make sure you asked people of various ages and ethnicities, too because there are demographic preferences that can make a difference to various buyers, such as smaller but more numerous bedrooms rather than larger and fewer. Older people often have different preferences in houses than younger people as well.
Sometimes I manage to help interested buyers get their own house sold, or help them find the cash for a down payment. If somebody really wants to buy my house fast and I can find a way to help them do it then we’re both happy! My professional skills can benefit others, even my buyers. This is where creativity really counts and it’s where the rubber meets the road in the present economy. In order to get houses sold you have to think of all the possibilities and work at it.
